Our Mission

The Active Theater produces thought provoking, Contemporary American Theater aimed at giving our audience an opportunity to more closely examine the world we all share. By giving exciting emerging artists the opportunity to team with respected industry professionals, we not only create never-before-seen invigorating collaborations, but we also shine a spotlight on the next generation of great American Theater Artists.

Consistent with our mission:

The Active Theater is dedicated to developing new plays, and leading them all the way through the development process to full production in our main stage season.

The Active Theater is dedicated to the promotion of emerging artists by making their contribution to Active beneficial to their career development, both while working with us and beyond.

Because of our belief that this is a world we must all share, Active is dedicated to partnering with other organizations working to improve the quality of life for those in need.
